Golf Gloves

You do not have to use a golf glove, but most golfers do.

Golf gloves help you grip the club, especially once your hands start to sweat. It also takes a little of the wear off of your hand.

It is very important to understand how golf gloves are labeled and to get a glove for the correct hand.

Golf gloves are traditionally worn on the hand that is closest to the butt of the club (the hand closest to you when holding the club). This means:

This can be very confusing for obvious reasons so make sure that you understand and when speaking make sure you don’t mistake a “right handed glove” for a “glove for a right handed golfer” or vice versa.

While one glove is traditionally used some golfers choose not to use one at all or until they really need it, as previously mentioned.

Some very few wear a glove on both hands. This is very rare and not recommended. The only time two gloves is common for golfers is when using rain gloves. They are sold in pairs and specifically made to use in rain for additional grip.
