Club Brushes
Club brushes are used to clean dirt and grim off golf clubs.
They commonly include a plastic handle with nylon bristles on one side and wire bristles on the other side.
Some include a metal groove cleaner to reach hard dirt stuck deeper in the grooves.
Brushes can vary in shapes, sizes, and extra features.
Whatever you prefer, it is important to have some kind of brush to keep your clubs clean and in optimal performance condition.
Club brushes are mostly utilized on irons and wedges since those are clubs that ideally take divots and get grass, dirt, and sand on the face.
Each time you hit one one of these clubs you should use the brush to clean the face.
- For light residue the nylon bristles should work fine.
- For moderate to heavy residue, the wire bristles are stronger and can cut through and remove what the nylon bristles cannot.
- If there is still debris stuck in the grooves and you have a groove cleaner, use it to make sure the grooves are nice and clean so they will provide the correct spin on the next shot.
Once you begin cleaning your club face after each shot it becomes habit. Then whenever you pull out a club to hit, it will be clean and ready to play.
