Ball Retrievers
There are two main types of ball retrievers:
- Original Ball Retriever
- Ball Grabber/Fetcher
The original ball retrievers are telescopic poles that extend from approximately 2-18 feet in length.
They usually have a circle, claw, or metal clasps to grab and hold the ball while pulling it in.
These are used less often, when your ball is in a location that you cannot or do not want to reach otherwise.
This type of ball retriever is mostly used by beginning golfers who hit more balls into water, woods, or tall grass and older senior golfers who have more time and enjoy hunting for lost golf balls.
*You must remember that ball retrievers are not allowed in tournament play and you must not hold up the people you are playing with or others playing behind you.*
The ball grabbers/fetchers are used much more regularly that the original ball retrievers. They are 2-4 foot sticks, usually made of wood, with a golf ball sized cup on the end. Cups are also made that will fit on the end of a putter or club that can be used as well.
These are used to pick up balls regularly on the course without having to bend down or get out of the cart.
This type of ball retriever is mostly used by older golfers or golfers who may have some type of physical issue that prevents them from bending down repeatedly.
